For those who want to escape from the bustle and stress of the big sity , resort " Cigov Chark" and the toun of Batak offer wonderful opportunities for recreation amond the enchanting scenery of the Rhodope Mountains.

Western Rhodope region is a paradise for anglers. Here are some of the largest and richest of fish dams in the country : lake "Batak" lake "Big Beglik"reservoir "Broad Meadow" reservoir "Beglika". 




In the winter, there usually snows heavily - 65 cm - Cigov Chark , 150 cm - the nearby mountains . Snow lasts from 2 to 5 months . Winter is quiet with most sunny days in Bulgaria . Ski-slope "Batak" is located nearby offering great conditions for sking and snoubording.



Forests in the Batak Mountain are operated by VAT lesnicheystvo. The cater is not only for conservation of forests , but is also useful for Game , which is the subject of hunting tourism. SFBs have their forest nuseries , residential and administrative buildings and equipment suitable for carrying out logging and forestry activities . All farms have excellent hunting homes where conditions are created and still exists to meet the foreign guests who come to hunt in these places .


 

The object of religious tourism are: the Church "Holy Sunday" where are the holy relics of martyrs Batak, it is a national monument which was built in 1813 taking 75 days labor of citizens of Batak. Kupulna temple is cruciform structure, built entirely of stone with oak doors and surrounded by high stone walls. Adjacent to it is the church "Holy Assumption" built in 1912 designed by Czech architect Josef Schnitter End Batak lasts time, which is an offshoot of Roman trade route Via Egnatia, linking the ancient cities of Kavala Dospat, Pazardjik, Plovdiv and Byzantium (now Istanbul). Presumably in the early Middle Ages the city was the religious center of the Rhodope Mountains - the so called “ Batashka Athos “, so evidenced by the many archaeological finds.
